Civil Discourse: Crucial Conversations for Societal Good

  • 36°N 36 East Cameron Street Tulsa, OK, 74103 United States (map)

The LWVMT and TYPROS 918 Vote are hosting a panel to discuss the value of returning to standards of politeness in public discussion.

About this event

Partisan politics have grown more contentious over the past few years. We seem to be witnessing a demonstrated decline in civil discourse and a marked rise of extremism. The League of Women Voters of Metropolitan Tulsa is partnering with TYPROS 918 Vote to host a panel to discuss the value of returning to standards of politeness in public discussion.

Join us Sept. 20 at 6pm at 36°N to hear community leaders discuss what civil discourse looks like in today’s polarized society, the spread of disinformation, and a quick lesson on media literacy.

Current confirmed guests include:

  • Regina Goodwin, OK State Representative

  • Susan Savage, former Tulsa Mayor

  • Rodger Randle , former Tulsa Mayor

  • Jayme Fowler, District 9 City Councilor

Media literacy section led by Nate Morris.
